This year Redmoon students worked with the artistic forms of

Toy Theater, Scroll Devices, and Installation. Below are images that inspired the students to create artwork that you will see in

EARTH ARCADE (without new mountains).

 

 

 

 

 

TOY THEATER-

Also called paper theater or model theater; this tradition began in 19th century Europe.  A Toy Theater is a miniature version of a theatrical production assembled at home by children and families and performed for guests in living rooms.  It was like the very first television.

 

     

 

 

 

 

 

 

SCROLL DEVICE-

The scroll device moves images on a long roll past the audience who view the image through a frame.  It  is like a movie where the picture goes frame by frame in one smooth continuous movement.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

INSTALLATION-

Installation uses art objects, sound, color, and performers to change the way we experience a particular space or place.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE SPECTACLE EVENT

For our show, we wanted to create a old time arcade using these artistic forms, so we looked at images of arcades and carnivals from the past.
